The Design Process
Whether we are designing for print or web the design process is pretty similar. It’s our job to learn and understand your business as well as you.
We work with you to establish exactly what you need to achieve from your communication. From a clearly defined objective we write a creative brief in which to work from. The brief forms the backbone of any creative work so it’s important for a client to understand and approve the brief before any design work can begin.
After the brief has been approved, concept design begins. It starts with research, brainstorming and scribbling our initial thoughts. The strongest concepts are now selected and 'mocked up' for client presentation.
Once approved, the final artworking can now begin. Depending on the brief, it might also be necessary for us to organise a photoshoot or perhaps commission illustration for example. If photography is required then we would also use this time for post production and generally getting everything spot on ready for production.
Once the final artwork is approved then production can begin. We usually organise our own production for printed materials, that way we can be in complete control of the final product until delivery. Sometimes, even a subtle choice of paper stock or material for example can be a key ingredient of the design. We always work closely with our suppliers to make sure that the final product is produced exactly as it was intended.
